The IPC Megastacks may be over, but most Indian crowds has reached Hanoi in Vietnam and are pulling big scores at the ongoing World Poker Tour (WPT) Vietnam! Only two days back, the IPC Megastacks ₹60K Main Event runner-up Aditya Sushant grabbed his second WPT trophy in Event #15: PLO. A total of nine Indians made it to Day 2 of the WPT Main Event, with Day 1C chip leader Zarvan Tumboli leading the team!
The biggest story back home on the online felts was the BB#8 EndBoss – India’s biggest online poker tournament but before we come to that, let’s look at how the annual POY standings look. Young Gun Anuj Yadav remained an unbeaten topper for the 12th consecutive week, and he sits with ₹2.10 Crores in annual cashes and a corresponding ₹1.15 Crores in annual profits.
The top three on the annual rankings remain the same. The #2 ranked Young Gun Arsh Grover is proving to be quite the steady runner to the top of the POY standings. In just under a month, Grover has added nearly ₹40 Lakhs to his online scorecard, covering significant distance with the reigning annual topper, Anuj Yadav. With ₹1.97 Crores in annual winnings, Grover will also very soon become the second Indian player to earn over ₹2 Crores this year.
Last week, we mentioned how the inaugural NPS Main Event champion Mohammad Azhar has fast climbed up the rankings on the back of a trailblazing week. Currently ranked #4, Azhar is threateningly close with less than ₹2 Lakhs separately the duo, Azhar sits with ₹1.64 Crores in annual cashes. It’ll be interesting to see whether Ahuja amps up his scorecard or Azhar takes over the coming week!
Now, about the EndBoss! Most Sundays are intense for online regs, but this past Sunday, Jitendra Gadhwal, the 26-year-old IT professional based out of Delhi, triumphed in the humungous 4,948-entry field in the ₹5 Crore GTD event to grab the top prize of ₹1 Crore. Surprisingly, we spoke to Gadhwal the next afternoon, and he was busy working. The IT professional who plays poker recreationally chose not to take a break after the long and tiring Sunday grind that has vaulted him straight to the top of the monthly and the weekly leaderboards!
That’s not all, Gadhwal has leaped the annual profit leaderboards, and with a whopping ₹98.61 Lakhs in profits, he is now ranked second to Anuj Yadav in the profit rankings.
The EndBoss runner-up Eshaan Kapoor ranks #2 on the monthly and weekly charts, with Mohammad Azhar rounding out the top three on the monthly leaderboard. The EndBoss third-place finisher Bhushan Sohani rounds out the podium for the week.

A poker enthusiast who has been playing the game for over the past three to four years, Jitendra Gadhwal will remember this week as one of the most career-defining moments in his poker resume. On Sunday, the 26-year-old Engineering Graduate toppled the 4,948-strong entry field to win the third edition of PokerBaazi’s EndBoss. As the latest “EndBoss,” Gadhwal pocketed a whopping ₹1 Crore! While he stormed into the top of the weekly leaderboard straightaway, Gadhwal also gave his tracked annual winnings a boost and dominated the May leaderboard standings!

Rounding out the top three on the May leaderboard is the 24-year-old online phenom Mohammad Azhar. Azhar was in top gear through the month and lapped up a hefty ₹40.77 Lakhs. He was consistent, but he also ran well in flagship tournaments. While his runner-up finish in the IMPS #120 Main Event for ₹11.27 Lakhs was Azhar’s best score of May. He also captured titles like Adda52’s BTH Monster. Azhar has climbed two spots up to take up the #4 position on the annual leaderboard in just a month!

Young Gun Anuj Yadav had a rather slow week this time and racked up nearabout ₹2.83 Lakhs in cashes. Yadav ran the deepest in last Sunday’s Sunday Highroller on PokerStars India, where he placed fourth for ₹1.11 Lakhs. Still, Yadav is comfortably positioned as the #1 ranked player of the year, with ₹2.10 Crores in annual winnings. As he looks at 13 straight weeks at the POY topper, Yadav is still approximately ₹17 Lakhs ahead of his closest competitor, Arsh Grover.

Young Gun Arsh Grover lapped over ₹5.69 Lakhs over the week, consolidating his position as the #2 ranked player in 2022. Grover managed to put in volume last Sunday despite being in Jhapa, Nepal, for the IPC Megastacks. He captured the BTH FTV Flamingo for ₹1.37 Lakhs, subsequently making it to the final table of The Big Show, where he finished third for ₹1.22 Lakhs.
All in all, Grover made away with ₹39.84 Lakhs in monthly cashes. Grover’s annual winnings stand at ₹1.97 Crore in annual cashes, and we can expect him to cross the ₹2 Crore marker for the same any day now.
